Dr. Patrick Tate, DVM

Hospital Medical Director

Hospital Medical Director Dr. Patrick Tate has built a career defined by a love of learning and a deep commitment to both his patients and the next generation of veterinary professionals. Growing up in a rural area and inspired by a local mixed-animal veterinarian, he pursued his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1982, and completed a rotating internship at the University of Missouri. He has devoted decades to all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, while also finding great satisfaction in mentoring pre-veterinary and veterinary students alongside the hospital's clinical staff. Outside of work, Dr. Tate loves exploring national parks with his two adult sons and visiting family in Louisiana. He and his wife share their home with two young orange cats who, by his own admission, keep the household lively.

Angel Venegoni

Hospital Administrator

The hospital administrator at Webster Groves Animal Hospital & Urgent Care Center since 2007, Angel Venegoni has more than two decades of experience in the animal care field. Angel studied Animal Science at the University of Missouri, Columbia. She worked at Hill's Pet Nutrition and Pet Center, Ltd. before joining the Webster Groves staff. She enjoys working with animals and is proud of the high-quality medicine offered at the hospital. Her goal is to make the hospital a better place for clients, patients and employees.

Angel loves tap dancing and is an instructor at a local adults only studio. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with family & friends. Her favorite places to travel are Italy & Walt Disney World. She is owned and loved by her boxer, Finn.

Maria Lumia

Practice Manager

Practice Manager Maria Lumia brings an extraordinary depth of experience and heart to her leadership role at Webster Groves Animal Hospital, where she has been a cornerstone of the team for over 30 years. Her journey in animal care began seven years before joining WGAH, working in animal shelter rescue before transitioning into the veterinary field — first as a technician, and then growing into the management role she holds today. Maria is passionate about animal welfare, client service, and staff development, and she takes immense pride in a hospital that can serve patients at every level of care, from routine wellness visits to surgery, hospitalization, and urgent care. When she is not at the hospital, Maria enjoys cooking for her extended family, hosting monthly game nights, and spending time with her husband, son, and their two beloved dogs, Little Buddy and Doug.

Dr. Todd Thomas, DVM, DABVP

Associate Veterinarian

Associate Veterinarian Dr. Todd Thomas has dedicated his career to the intersection of science and compassionate care. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1996, and in 2002 became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Canine and Feline Practice — a distinction that reflects his deep commitment to excellence. His clinical interests include internal medicine, surgery, and client education, and he finds great fulfillment in the collaborative spirit that defines the team at Webster Groves Animal Hospital. When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Thomas and his wife enjoy staying active together — hiking, traveling, and spending time outdoors with their two dogs.

Dr. Christine Bovier, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Associate veterinarian, Dr. Christine Bovier has practiced medicine at Webster Groves Animal Hospital & Urgent Care Center since June of 1996. Hailing from St. Louis, she began her undergraduate studies in Animal Science at Purdue University, but prior to graduation Dr. Bovier was granted early admission to Purdue University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Her area of particular professional interest is surgery.

Dr. Bovier’s home is filled with pets, and she enjoys the companionship of five dogs: two Black Labs named Blue and Violet, two Chocolate Labs named Red and Jade, and a Blood Hound mix named Five. She also has three cats named Luna, Serina, and Diablo. When she's not busy with her duties at the hospital, Dr. Bovier can be found walking and swimming with her dogs, gardening and quilting.

Dr. Kurt Bedow, DVM

Veterinary Staff Manager

Veterinary Staff Manager Dr. Kurt Bedow grew up on a dairy farm, where an early introduction to large animal medicine and a lifelong love of science set him on the path to veterinary practice. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Kansas before going on to receive his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. Today, Dr. Bedow channels that foundational passion into general companion animal care at Webster Groves Animal Hospital, where he values the exceptional diagnostics available and the relationships he has built with both staff and clients over the years. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Bedow stays active through biking and hiking, is involved in his church community, and treasures time spent with his family.

Dr. Abby Kerckhoff, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

A general practitioner at Webster Groves Animal Hospital & Urgent Care Center since 2005, Dr. Abby Kerckhoff is a St. Louis native and has had a lifelong interest in veterinary medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri, Columbia and received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Sciences in 2001. She continued her veterinary education at the University of Missouri, Columbia and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. Kerckoff counts surgery among her professional interests.

When she's not at the hospital, Dr. Kerckhoff enjoys a number of outdoor activities including rock climbing, biking, running, camping and hiking. Her dogs, Montana and J.J., usually join her on these outdoor pursuits.

Dr. Ailien Britt, DVM

Associate Veterinarian & Chief of Surgery

Associate Veterinarian and Chief of Surgery Dr. Ailien Britt graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Driven by a passion for science and animal welfare, she has since developed particular expertise in canine and feline soft tissue surgery, dentistry, pain management, wound management, and emergency and critical care. She is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist and Fear Free Certified practitioner. Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Britt serves as a Board Member of Visiting Veterinarians International and has traveled to Mexico, Fiji, Belize, St. Croix, St. John, and Cambodia to provide spay/neuter services and preventive care in underserved communities. Her international contributions also extend to research teams in Kazakhstan, the Marshall Islands, and the Dogs of Chernobyl organization in Ukraine. When not at the hospital or abroad, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Heather Hendrickson, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Heather Hendrickson first joined the Webster Groves Animal Hospital & Urgent Care Center staff as a receptionist in 1996. She went on to become a technician at the hospital and returned "home" after becoming a veterinarian. Dr. Hendrickson attended the University of Missouri, Columbia and received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 2000. She continued her education at the University of Missouri, Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2006.

A native of Kirkwood, Dr. Hendrickson lives with her husband, Jimmy, and their pets, cats Simon and Bob and dogs Brea and Hannah.

Dr. Nancy Roth, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Associate Veterinarian Dr. Nancy Roth brings a rare dual background in both human and veterinary medicine to her practice at Webster Groves Animal Hospital. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Missouri, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Avila University, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. An inductee of the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society, Dr. Roth has also delivered educational presentations for 4-H and Pony Club groups across multiple states. Her professional interests include internal medicine, feline medicine, and preventive care. An avid equestrian and small breeder, she shares a rural Franklin County property with her husband Terry Dyson, six cats, two dogs, and two horses — and in her spare time, she tends to an impressive personal library.

Dr. Ashley Williams, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Associate Veterinarian Dr. Ashley Williams was drawn to veterinary medicine by the unique challenge of diagnosing and treating patients who cannot describe their own symptoms. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science from Truman State University in 2006, then went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in 2013, graduating magna cum laude and earning induction into the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. Her clinical interests include urgent care, internal medicine, and rehabilitation, and in 2025 she founded Oak Haven Animal Rehab, offering shockwave therapy to canine, feline, and equine patients. Outside of medicine, Dr. Williams is an avid equestrian who competes nationally in the hunter/jumper discipline, and she is kept wonderfully busy by her two sons, Henry and Cody, and her Miniature Schnauzer, Gus.

Dr. Rhonda Moseley, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Rhonda Moseley joined Webster Groves Animal Hospital as a veterinarian in January 2014. She had worked at the hospital previously as a technician before attending veterinary school.

Dr. Moseley was born in Rochester, New York, and lived in Pittsburgh until age 9, when her family moved to St. Louis County, Missouri. She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she earned her bachelor's degree in psychology. From there, she went on to earn a master's degree in social work from Washington University. She returned to the University of Missouri to attend its College of Veterinary Medicine and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.

Her areas of special professional interest include dentistry, internal medicine, and the human-animal bond.

Dr. Moseley is married to John, a chef who enjoys skiing, running, history, and sports, and they have two sons, Nate and Jackson. Her hobbies include cycling, traveling, baking, swimming, and music. The family has a miniature Schnauzer named Willow, a Siamese mix named Jewel, and a domestic shorthair orange tabby named Pumpkin.

Dr. Jennifer Larsen, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Associate Veterinarian Dr. Jennifer Larsen traces her path to veterinary medicine back to a childhood love of animals — a passion that has never wavered. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri and has built her practice around a focus on general wellness, caring for the diverse community of pet owners who all share a common bond with their animals. She particularly cherishes the relationships she has formed with the colleagues and clients who make coming to work each day a joy. Outside the hospital, Dr. Larsen is a dedicated soccer mom, an avid reader, a gardener, and an enthusiastic traveler who loves exploring the outdoors with her family.

Dr. Madison Hudder, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Associate Veterinarian Dr. Madison Hudder has wanted to be a veterinarian since the age of three, and today she gets to live that dream every day. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Truman State University in 2019 and went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. Her clinical passions lie in urgent care and emergency medicine, and she particularly values the continuity of care and collaborative spirit that define Webster Groves Animal Hospital — from a puppy's first wellness visit to complex emergent cases. When she is not at the hospital, Dr. Hudder can be found hiking, working out at the gym, traveling to national parks, or spending time with family, friends, and her dog Ellie.

Frank Thompson

Client Relations Specialist

Client Relations Specialist Frank Thompson has spent more than four decades dedicated to animal health and welfare. He spent 13 years working with the Humane Society of Missouri, followed by 17 years at Spoede Animal Hospital, before joining the team at Webster Groves Animal Hospital, where he has now been a valued presence for over 10 years. Frank holds AAHA certificates in both Workplace Communication Basics and Conflict Resolution, underscoring his commitment to fostering respectful, productive relationships with clients and colleagues alike. His breadth of experience across the animal care field makes him an invaluable resource for the families and pets who come through WGAH's doors every day.
